Abstract

Chitosan which is derived from chitin is a naturally occurring biopolymer, pretends to have a large number of pharmaceutical application. Chitosan offers good biocompatibility and also low toxicity which makes it a good pharmaceutical excipient in both conventional and novel applications. It is that this uniqueness makes it significant for the Pharma industry. Here a large number of its pharmaceutical application, history, origin, chemistry and its method of preparation have been studies to provide a reliable means of information.
