To create a variety of sublingual formulation process such as direct compression, freeze-drying, spray-drying, and sublimation are examples of innovative manufacturing, such as tablets, films, sprays, and lipid matrix-based systems. The selection of excipients, including disintegrants, lubricants, and sweeteners, substantially affects the formulation's efficacy and patient adherence.

Despite its advantages, sublingual drug delivery has certain limitations, such as short retention time, limited drug load capacity, and restrictions on eating, drinking, or speaking during administration.
